The STOTS Outreach program was started to spread the light of the Gospel through classes, songs and interactions by reaching out to the faithful members of our parishes of the Outside Kerala Region who live in a vast cultural and linguistic differences.
It gives a special focus to the growing next generation through the Orthodox Vacation Bible School- Outside Kerala Region (OVBS-OKR)
Parish Mission is a distinguished and well acceptable program of the Seminary. The students are sent to different parishes of the Outside Kerala Region on Sundays for the Sunday Worship.
It helps the students to enhance their talents in oratory, music and other ministerial aptitude and the parishes, to improve the worship with the help of a seminarian.
The ‘Prerana Multipurpose School’ was established in 2001, for the underprivileged ‘children with special needs’, under the auspices of St. Thomas Orthodox Seminary.
The primary objective of this mission project is to empower and motivate them through special education, economic rehabilitation approaches and advanced technologies.
Satya Jyothi, which means ‘the true light’, is the lay theological study program initiated by the Seminary.
It is an online study program which is a pioneering effort by the seminary and the first of its kind in the history of the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Church.
The Church through the Seminary has started this venture out of its concern for the need to make its faith and spiritual heritage available to the common people through the widely used internet world.
A woman being the integral part of our society needs to be in the fore-front of the Church too.
This thought made the Holy Episcopal Synod of the Malankara (Indian) Orthodox Church to permit the women folk of our Church to obtain theological education from STOTS, Nagpur.
Through this revolutionary step for the empowerment of women, the Church has brought a change in the society by bringing them into the mainstream of the church activities.
Upasana Centre is the most recently accomplished project of the Seminary to host and coordinate conferences and camps for the parishioners of the Outside Kerala Region of our Church. The seminary mainly aims at hosting programs like Orthodox Christian Youth Conference (OCYC - a conference for the diaspora youth organized by the Seminary) and other regional conferences of various spiritual organizations.
Orthodox Diaspora Youth Meet is conducted every year during the summer vacations by the Seminary. It was instigated right from the beginning of the Seminary’s inception, mainly to have a better contact with the parishioners especially the Diaspora Youth. ODYM supports the diaspora youth who have difficulty with Malayalam language, to understand and follow the Orthodox heritage and liturgy.
This is an ongoing successful event by the Seminary which has attracted many diaspora youth to accept the divine call to be a part of our Lord’s vineyard.
